Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa tightening mask requirement starting Aug. 28

😎

Starting Friday, Aug. 28, visitors to Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa near Cabazon will need an actual face mask; visitors will not be able to enter if they are wearing bandanas, gaiters or masks with valves in them, officials for the casino announced via social media.

Morongo, which reopened May 22 after a more than two-month coronavirus closure, has said since its reopening that guests and team members would need to wear masks, but the recent update on social media provides a more specific requirement for guests on what works as a mask and what they’ll be allowed in with.

Morongo is not the only tribally-operated casino in Southern California to tighten its mask requirements. Earlier this month, Sycuan Casino Resort in San Diego County announced to its social media followers that bandanas, neck gaiters and masks with valves would no longer be allowed as viable face-covering options.

Elsewhere, businesses such as Disneyland have also tightened their mask requirements. The theme park won’t allow bandanas and gaiters, and visitors must sit down or remain stationary while eating or drinking in the Downtown Disney shopping area outside the park.
