Three-alarm fire burning in Oakland

OAKLAND — Firefighters are on the scene of a three-alarm blaze in the Chinatown area.

The fire erupted about 8:15 a.m. at a multi-story commercial structure in the area of Seventh and Webster streets. The fire was still burning as of 8:45 a.m.

There were no immediate reports of any injuries.

There was reports of heavy fire in the attic of one building and firefighters were trying to prevent the fire from spreading to other buildings.

Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

Streets in the area were shut down while the fire was being fought.
