
SAN JOSE – Two people were killed in a quintuple shooting near San Jose State University late Tuesday, police said.
The shooting was reported on the 600 block of South 8th Street, near East Reed Street and two blocks south of the university, about 10 p.m., said San Jose police Sgt. Christian Camarillo.
Camarillo said two victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Three other victims were taken to hospitals with unspecified injuries.
A motive for the shooting and a description of the suspect were not immediately available.
