Man killed in crash in Brainerd

A man was injured in a shooting July 11, 2021, on the Stevenson Expressway.

About 4 a.m., the 54-year-old was driving south on Halsted Street, when he lost control of his vehicle in the 9400 block of South Halsted Street, and struck a light pole.

A man was killed in a vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Brainerd on the South Side.

About 4 a.m., the 54-year-old was driving south on Halsted Street, when he lost control of his vehicle in the 9400 block of South Halsted Street, and struck a light pole, Chicago police said.

He was rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He has not yet been identified.

Police believe the crash was alcohol relate. Area Two detectives are investigating.
