A woman has shared her clever hack for reducing the appearance of scratches on stainless steel surfaces – like your fridge.
Mum-of-four, Liz Amaya, from Brisbane, Australia, shared a clip on Instagram revealing her simple but surprising trick to make her shiny surfaces look brand new.
The process is three-steps. You start by scrubbing over the scratch with whitening toothpaste and a soft toothbrush, then you wipe the surface with a damp microfiber cloth.
Finally, you wipe the affected area with any type of oil – this buffs the surface and leaves an instant shine. Ideal.
Liz demonstrated the simple technique on her stainless steel fridge, and quickly got rid of a pesky scratch.

She adds that the trick works best on marks that aren’t engraved too deeply, but you could try this on any shiny surface in your home.
It is thought that abrasive texture of the toothpaste removes small scratches from stainless steel and glass – so you could even try it on your windows.
Liz shared the trick on Instagram and it proved incredibly popular.
