A sheep had to have more than 75 pounds of wool cut off after running wild without being shorn for years.

The animal, named Baarack by rescuers, was spotted wandering in bushland in Victoria, Australia.

His matted fleece — grown over at least five years — was weighing him down, blocking his vision and threatening his chances of survival.

But Edgar’s Mission, in Lancefield, took the stoic animal in and gave him a much-needed makeover.

‘We couldn’t believe there was actually a sheep alive under all that wool,’ said the sanctuary on Facebook.

The animal, named Baarack by rescuers, was spotted wandering in bushland in Victoria, Australia.

‘It was a struggle to comprehend that beneath that convoluted moving mass of matted fleece, adorned with countless sticks, twigs and insects, which caused his saviours to look twice, was not Australia’s answer to the yeti – but a sheep.

‘Each day his wool grew longer and longer, and his plight more desperate, while his chances of survival grew thinner and thinner.

‘Many people do not realise that wool can easily morph into a cumbersome fleece that continues to grow throughout the life of a sheep.

‘Now relieved of that fleece and its burden, Baarack is indeed lighter in more ways than one. Baarack can now see the world more clearly.’

Tornado North Carolina A deadly tornado fueled by a major winter storm struck a coastal North Carolina community late Monday night and killed at least three people and injured 10 more. The tornado hit the Ocean Ridge Plantation area in Brunswick County, North Carolina, at about 11:50 p.m. Monday night, Brunswick County officials said. Several homes were destroyed and several others were "severely" damaged. Emergency management officials said they'd be sweeping through the area when the sun came up to search the destruction for any additional injuries or deaths. All told, there were four reports of tornadoes from severe weather spawned by major Winter Storm Uri. Storms also damaged homes and other structures and left at least four people injured Monday in Florida and Georgia.
