Jobs should not be filled based
on race, religion, gender, ethnicity
Re: “Harris’ bill giving DREAMers a role in Congress applauded” (Letters to the editor, April 9):
I strongly endorse the idea that any job position should be filled with the most qualified applicant, whether in government, high tech, entertainment, etc. It should not be based on race, religion, gender or ethnicity.
It seems to me, however, that those supporting this bill are the same people who are yelling that more diversity is needed and there should be (and is) preferential treatment for certain identity groups.
This is just another example of the arrogance and hypocrisy of the progressives. I support immigration reform but, sorry, I still feel that citizenship counts for something.
