It’s rock ‘n’ roll legend time in the Bay Area, as the great Robert Plant hits the Greek Theatre in Berkeley on June 21.
The powerful vocalist, who was enshrined as a member of Led Zeppelin into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, is touring in support of last year’s critically acclaimed “Carry Fire.”
It’s the 11th solo effort for Plant and he’s backed once again by his Sensational Space Shifters, who are also accompanying him on tour.
Besides showcasing his ample solo catalog, which includes such top-selling albums as 1982’s “Pictures at Eleven” and 1988’s “Now and Zen,” Plant will also hopefully get the Led — as in Zeppelin — out during his time in Berkeley. Fans would absolutely go gaga to hear such Zeppelin favorites as “Ramble On,” “Going to California,” “Dazed and Confused” and “Whole Lotta Love.” Can you imagine what would happen if he trotted out “Stairway to Heaven”?

Some might say that’s wishful thinking. But Plant has been pretty generous with the Zeppelin material on this tour. So, we’ll just keep our fingers crossed.
Jim James, the front man for My Morning Jacket, and Seth Lakeman are also on the bill.
Details: 7:30 p.m. June 21. Tickets are $59.50-$159.50, www.ticketmaster.com.
