The longtime Studio City home of the late “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek recently sold for $6.45 million, down 8% from the $6.995 million sought in January.
Spanning nearly 10,000 square feet, this 1923 Mediterranean-style residence has a main house and a detached guest house for a combined five bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. It sits on about 1.5 acres in upscale Fryman Estates, steps from the Wilacre Park wilderness area, with a pool and a spa.
Inside the main house are four generously-sized bedrooms, nine bathrooms and entertainment spaces that include a home theater and a bar.
It opens to a grand foyer with an imperial staircase that leads to a second-floor sitting area.
There’s a large kitchen, a butlers pantry, formal and informal dining rooms, a family room, and a primary suite.
Four fireplaces and multiple balconies and verandas add to the main house’s offerings.
The guest house has one bedroom and two bathrooms.
The beloved “Jeopardy!” host died in November 2020 at 80 after a battle with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer at the home he and his second wife, Jean, raised their two children.
According to public records, they bought the home in 1991 for $2.15 million. Their daughter, Emily Trebek, co-listed the property with her fellow Compass agent Renee Ogiens. The couple also has a son, Matthew.
Trebek adopted his eldest daughter, Nicky, during his first marriage. He and his then-wife, Elaine, divorced in 1981.
Andrew Dinsky of Equity Union represented the buyer.Related Articles
